APS Applied Science and Technology: An Overview

Originally incorporated in 2002 with a focus on acoustics and hydrodynamics, Applied Physical Sciences Corporation (APS) continues to diversify our interests through a measured expansion of our technical staff. As a result, about one-quarter of our technical staff members hold PhDs in engineering, physics, and mathematics.

In 2012, APS became a wholly owned subsidiary, and our services and solutions now complement the broad portfolio of our parent company, General Dynamics.

Our current efforts include Applied Science and Technology (S&T) and Research and Development (R&D) for customers such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Office of Naval Research (ONR).  APS also leads basic and applied research activities for our defense and commercial customers, as well as product development.

Symbol of Expertise in Physics, Applied Science and Technology, and MoreThe Applied Physical Sciences Corporation logo is a symbolic reminder of our expertise in physics, applied science and technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as the experimental approaches to wave propagation. The logo reveals the classic “candelabra” pattern of the modal bending dispersion relations for thin cylindrical shells.
